lots of ‘parameters’ would not be an issue on modern hardware, e.g. Osmose additional SoC.
(if we are talking samples then perhaps, but not parameters, even if they were 32bit ;))
Id be surprised if EE were not thinking of getting some form of Overlay UI(s) on the Osmose in the ‘longer term’.
The overlay ‘tease’ they’ve shown already is clearly a nod to ‘demands’ of more traditional synth players, moving that to the osmose UI will counter the argument of not being able to edit the patch…as most wont be interested in the nuance of what is a EM patch vs an overlay. as, frankly, few see (/ are interested in) the EM already.
if they make a ‘subtractive’ overlay and a ‘fm synth’ overlay, many will just view these in a similar way as other synth have different ‘engines’.
not saying its easy, but I think it’d be a logical step, to try to help broaden the appeal (even further) of the Osmose.
all this is good, whilst I like the EM and its editor, none of this would take away from that.
Yea. I agree. But if history has taught us anything it’s that EE will be very slow to add anything on the Osmose itself. I think their designers are more adept at higher level app creation than firmware. On the Continuum end it’s the opposite. Someone requests a feature and boom it’s in the next release.
I would be happy with just a more accessible Ui/UX design. Tiny mouse targets and the lack of responsive design (screen size, resolution, fonts etc). Tends to keep me from diving deep with it.
Of course it would also be wonderful if I could run it on a small tablet android or iPad.
Haken Audio have a lot more flexibility to improve the editor experience now that they’re away from the limitations of MAX.
Please open support tickets and quantify that these shortcomings have an impact sufficient that it prevents you from using it. This kind of feedback is critical for them in prioritizing work. Quantified and specific feedback is the key. Just the general complaint that it’s “too hard” they’ve heard so often that it is pretty meaningless.
