Mine also does that, sometimes.
Often enough that I’m not surprised anymore, but definitely not 30% of the time.

They had me do a test with and without the SD Card inserted. It never failed to turn on without the SD card. They suspected that might be the case and said they are working to solve the issue.

I just got mine as well, and also experience the boot up issue.
It is still early days but it mostly happend when using the powerbrick.
Connecting directly to computer and no external power seems more stable.

Same for me, it is related to the powerbrick alimentation. For instance if the Erae is already working while only conected to the computer, if I plug the external power it can shut down.

yeah, I noticed this too (and reported to Embodme).
its a bit surprising, as the power supply provides plenty of power, and I also tried another more powerful supply, and it didn’t help.
my guess is this is all down to device initialisation…
I think certain parts (display/sdcard) are all initialised and not necessarily in a strict order, and if you are unlucky with timing, it fails in certain conditions.
my assumption has been that usb host initialisation changes this timing slightly, hence why it doesn’t happen on usb (for me)
hmm, Ive not had that @PrS… though, I cannot say its something I do very often.
(as I either want to use with computer, so USB, OR I want standalone)
hopefully embodme will get to the bottom of it… Im kind of encouraged others are seeing it, as initially I was concerned it was just my unit (esp. as it was early of the production line!)

Not sure what we’re looking at here, but it seems worthy of investigation.

Just searched my email for a newsletter, and found some more details.
The key one being that this is firmware 1.0.8, and not the 2.0 release which reintroduces the API element.
(now is roughly when they expected that to be ready, when I asked them at NAMM, but it will probably be a bit later if they’re releasing this separately)
