How to link breath input within EigenD?

Hi guys, it’s been a while

I cant seem to find a way to use the breath controller on my Eigenharp Pico. Early on with the Pico, I would get messages that it was blocked, now those seem to have resolved themselves.

ChatGPT seem to think that I should be able to edit note outputs for keygroups within the workbench, but all I’m able to do is right click agents and change fixed parameters. Apparently this may be to do with the version im running.

Im using the MIDI basic setup to control Animoog Z (on an ipad) and id like to link breath input (or should it be pressure) to cc 74 but cant seem to find a way

Does anyone have experience in this?

Thank you all,

Leigh

I have a bit of free time todays afternoon, I’ll do an example (besides config EigenD, you need also to config Animoog Z - MOD)

Thank you, that would be much appreciated! :+1:

IMPORTANT in the Animoog manual:

INPUT CHANNEL

This parameter determines which MIDI channel will be used to receive data. Tap the CHANNEL box and set your channel by scrolling through the options from OMNI (all Channels); 1-16; or MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression).

NOTE: When connecting a MIDI controller and selecting it from the INPUT LIST, the MPE Configuration Message sent out by the controller will automatically switch the INPUT CHANNEL to MPE

TIP: The MPE Channel Pressure message is mapped to the PRESSURE CONTROL in the MOD panel, and the MPE Control Change #74 message is mapped to the MOD-WHEEL CONTROL.

example to send MIDI CC 25 from Breath pipe

Factory Setup - Pico - 1 Standard Setup
(but can be used with other Pico setups)

go to EigenD > Window > Midi Converter 1 (Midi rig 1)

connect Breath to MIDI CC74 and scale it to taste

Blowing breath pipe this will give you MIDI OUT - CC25

now on to Animoog, receiving CC25
go to SETTINGS > MIDI > map midi (you should see MIDI activity)

have fun

Final bump for this…

I’d really like to get the ribbon controller mapped but I can’t seem to find the right CC, can anybody help me?

Thanks

if you have a look back at @keymanpal post above.
you can see in the EigenD mapping ‘Strip Position’, and ‘absolute strip position’

strip position is relative to where you first touch the ribbon
absolution strip position is the actual position.

usually, you’d use relative where you want a mod wheel like experience where you dont mind exactly where you touch, just to start from zero and up/down.

absolute used where you want actual position, you’ll want to likely have return to origin as off.

these are the ribbon so can then be mapped to a CC in the same way he shows for the breath pipe - so can map to any CC you want.

You’re awesome, thank you!

I’ve been trying to get the breath controller (and strip) to be as expressive as possible, mainly on the DAW side. Any other EigenD tips would be amazing if you have any to share

Cheers
