Expressive E have shipped version 2.0 of the Osmose software/firmware. We can use this thread to talk about specifics of Osmose interfacing with the new changes.

The EM Firmware appears to be still at 10.09, but the Osmose-side firmware is new, obviously. Not sure how to best differentiate the 2 firmware on the Osmose when communicating: perhaps EM Firmware vs Osmose Firmware is sufficient.

The Haken Editor included in the 2.0 update is apparently a modified version of the editor (according to RK).
Is this a forked line of development for the HE, or does the 10.38 editor include the EE modifications?

RK and others on the forums have reported that preset enumeration by the User and System preset requests. (ch16 cc109, 32 (user) and 39 (system) no longer work. It doesn’t appear that EE have published a means to enumerate presets.
EE could fix this in a backward-compatible way by recognizing these requests and returning the same format for preset info as before – only the cc0, cc32, pg numbers change. When the post 10.09 FW comes to Osmose, I’d expect the corresponding change in the data streams (i.e. 10.09: 1 char per channel pressure vs new 2 chars per polyphonic Key Pressure).
So this raises a lot of questions about future direction of EE with regards to 3rd party support. Are there any plans from EE to fully support external software/controllers? Or, are they going to only expose the minimal subset like they have done so far? At some point, if they continue this path, I’ll have to abandon supporting Osmose, which would be a shame.
