The video makes me rather suppose that it is a multi beams controller, a little like the old Cristall Ball ? Crystall Ball by Naonext

their instagram has quite a few videos of it in action…
looks indeed, like its got multiple (5?) beams, and detects hand above each, not clear if its just height e.g. can it also detect tilt.
hard to tell from demo videos, as its not clear what is being done by QuRay alone, and what is being done externally e.g. it seems to change what its controlling at some point, which could easily be done from somewhere else.
seems to have a nice visual feedback, which I think is a nice touch for these ‘air’ devices.
that said, with so many ‘expressive controller’ option these days, for me, these succeed / fail based more on their quality (sensitivity / accuracy / expressiveness) rather than feature set or number of axis.
unfortunately, the market disagrees… we get a lot of feature rich, cheap controllers, as they sell better.
anyways, apparently they will be at superbooth, so that’ll be an opportunity to check it out.
