Roli Seaboard Block and Linux Question

I recently picked up a group of seaboard blocks and lightpads on the used market as I wanted a “keyboard like” partner for my Eigenharp, that I could easily set up in Bitwig.

I’m a Linux primary user, but my question is more general, and I struggle with it on Mac and Win as well.

My question is about mapping X/Y on the keyboard. I can easily map Y (stroke a key upward, and key downward) to my VSTs like Surge or Equator, but the X direction - side to side on a key, does register, but it’s not smooth or doesn’t pitch notes, unless I use the bar under the keyboard.

Now I am a new user to Roli stuff, so I might just be missing something in Roli studio. Everything else I can tune the response on, or easily map, but I am having a devil of a time mapping the side to side on a key (x direction) to pitch bend.

Is this just a limitation of the hardware? Am I missing something?

It’s not a big issue I suppose, as I mostly use an Eigenharp and Erae, so, I can do my initial recording there.

It would be nice to be able to edit those recordings with the nice mini seaboards when I am on the road with a laptop tho.

I can of course, edit the automation manually in bitwig with a mouse, but… it would be much more fun to do on the seaboard block.

Anyway, it was a general question to those more experienced than me with Roli gear.

Nothing really on their support page, as Lumi bought them and memory hole’d most of the old support forum.

Am I just missing something in Roli Dashboard?
