Which "splitter" cables for Erae II?

What splitter cables do I need and where do I get them please?
The ones that I need to double the CV outs that is.

This must be them!

No, that will send the same output to both cables, it wont get 2 different signals out of a single port.

I havent got the Erae II but I assume what you want is a cable thats normal use would be more like a stereo to mono L and mono R type cable. TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) to two TS, with one of the TS being wired to Tip & Sleeve and the other to Ring & Sleeve.

From the manual, it sounded like the tip sends one signal to the left split and sleeve sends the other signal to the right. Would have been nice to have the specific cable shown in the manual for clarification.

If you’ve run out at 12, it might be worth getting stereo extension cables, then splitting off to dual mono from the end of those. 'cause, 24 cables hanging off the back of your Exquis seems like a lot.

I’m guessing this would be what I need: ?

what you want is a 3.5mm Y stereo (TRS) male to , 2x 3.5mm mono (TS) female.

note: Ive not seen/used above… just was first that ‘looked’ right

tips:

  • double check its 3,5mm, as a lot are 6.35 aka 1/4"
  • make sure its splits, most splitters are stereo to stereo (headphone sharing!)
  • 2 colour like above is good, so you know which is tip and ring… ie. cv channel
  • I like short as possible, to keep it tidy

this way, you can then use standard eurorack cables from the splitter to the rack. I have a bunch of long ones esp for the job.

ofc, you could use male-male, but then you’ll need the right length, which I find is a bit situational dependent.

also with the M-F approach, you can leave them plugged in, and not have long cables dangling around.
only disadvantage is one more ‘connection’, so a chance for dodgy F socket, to cause issues, so buying ‘decent’ is best approach.

but hey, ymmv.

I’ll also mention,
in practice, I found I didnt use so as many CV channels as I thought, I might… so given the expense, of buying 12 of these, Id buy a few then add more as you need … that said I need more now

I think the reason I dont use as many as I thought Id need, is I tend to use usb midi more - into my hermod, then back out… as its just one cable.
